Learn the skills for glued clinker, cold moulding, strip planking and stitch & glue boat building. There will also be a foundation in scarfing and lamination of timber components. Understand the theory of modern methods for setting up building moulds, backbone arrangements and lining off planks.

The first day the course starts at 0900.
After the first day all courses run to the normal workshop times of: 0830 to 1730

5 Day Course
The Boat Building Academy houses living accommodation for nine students. The accommodation is basic but comfortable and reasonably priced, enabling people to live and work on Monmouth Beach for the duration of their course.
Rooms are reserved on a ‘first come, first served’ basis as people book their place on a course. Should the accommodation be full, the Academy will, within reason, help people joining the longer course to find a suitable place to stay in Lyme Regis and the surrounding area.
