WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
Hand cut dovetails are a hallmark of skilled craftsmanship. Over this two-day practical course, you’ll learn how to sharpen and prepare your tools, accurately set out dovetails in both softwood and hardwood, and cut through and lapped dovetail joints by hand.
You’ll use marking knives and gauges, and sliding bevels to set out the joints, before cutting and refining them with Japanese saws, coping saws, and bevelled edge and skewed chisels.
With plenty of opportunity to practise each stage of the process, you’ll refine your technique and develop the accuracy and confidence needed to produce well-fitting joints.
The course fee includes all tools and materials.
