The Boat Building Academy Bursary Scheme
In 2020, the Boat Building Academy was granted charity status, fulfilling the long-held ambition to create the BBA bursary scheme to be able to help the next generation of boat builders and furniture makers, who would otherwise be unable to fund their training at the academy. A normal bursary award would be up to a maximum of 50% of the course fee however in exceptionally rare circumstances we may offer up to 100% of the course fee and living expenses.
We also have the following additional categories of bursaries:
- BBA bursary for women was introduced in February 2023 and aims to proactively affirm that women are not only welcomed but wanted in the industry. Facilitating access to high-level training and career development opportunities.
- BBA bursary for locals of Lyme Regis.
- BBA bursary for Dorset.
