The Decibel restoration project was made possible through a generous bequest from Richard Coleman, administered by his friend Tony Vlasto. A passionate yachtsman, Richard undertook many remarkable solo voyages aboard Decibel, forming a deep connection with the vessel.
In his will, Richard expressed a strong wish for Decibel to be restored by young people, giving them the opportunity to learn and develop traditional boatbuilding skills.
In addition to supporting the restoration, Richard’s gift also funded the construction of Decibel Too, an RNLI lifeboat based in Falmouth.
