Haven 12 1/2 - John Watson

John chose to build a Joel White version of a Herreshoff Haven 12 1/2.  The original design has a full keel, the Joel White version has a centreboard, meaning it can enter shallower waters than than the original and making it easier to trailer around. John's boat is of strip planked in Douglas fir and sheathed in glass fibre. The boat has a cast lead ballast keel. It is 15' 11" in length and has a beam of 6' 1".
